AP Physics I

PUF’s AP Physics 1 is an algebra-based, introductory college-level physics class that will prepare you to excel not only in school but also in CollegeBoard's AP Physics I examination. Students cultivate their understanding of physics through inquiry-based investigations as they explore the topics of kinematics, dynamics, circular motion and gravitation, energy, momentum, simple harmonic motion, torque and rotational motion, electric charge and electric force, DC circuits, and mechanical waves and sound. By confronting complex physical situations and scenarios, the class enables you to develop the ability to reason about physical phenomena using important science practices, such as explaining relationships, applying and justifying the use of mathematical routines, designing experiments, analyzing data, and making connections across multiple topics within the course. Prerequisites: Algebra

By completing this award-winning course and earning the AP Physics Certificate of Achievement, you can showcase your strengths and highlight how you have challenged yourself beyond school curriculum and requirements, even during the summer break! Students in the class will build a strong foundational knowledge of the subject matter as they learn difficult concepts through easy-to-understand lessons and practice with complex word problems. Through a special link, we will invite students for live whiteboard interactive lessons, interactive problem-solving and group work, and accessing the practice problem sets once their registration is complete. Weekly assessments, including short quizzes and MCQ/Essay exams built within our class portal, help our students assess their performance under the AP Exam scenario. While the class covers the AP curriculum, it is also aligned with the national NGSS science standards and school curriculums, thereby preparing students to do very well on their school quizzes and exams, too. This class ensures students are on track for mastering the necessary skills (critical thinking and quantitative analysis) to stay ahead in their class and perform well on their AP test for an impressive College Application. A high score in the AP Physics 1 Exam gives college credit for 1st semester College Physics Course, thus saving you time and money on College courses in the future.

Once you are registered, through a special link, we will invite you for the live whiteboard interactive lessons, interactive problem-solving and group work, and accessing the class portal.

Self-Paced, Flexible Option Prefer flexibility in your schedule? Have a scheduling conflict? We have several students in the same boat as you and have designed our classes to be self-paced and flexible for such circumstances! In this option, all instruction is pre-recorded and available for students to review in their class portal at their own time, along with the class reading materials and practice problem sets. You will not be missing any component of the class.
